Victory in polls clearly shows that farmers are in favour of agriculture reforms: Javadekar

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) The BJP on Wednesday said that their victory in Rajasthan Panchayat Elections clearly proves that farmers are in favour of the new agriculture reforms.
Senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar told a press conference that around 2.5 crore people in the rural areas supported the BJP, which clearly proves that farmers in crores are in favour of the agricultural reforms.
He said that in such polls always the party in power at state level used to get the support, however, this time the results have shown a new direction when the ruling Congress has faced defeat.
Giving away the poll figures, Mr Javadekar said that BJP won 353 out of 636 Zilla Parishad seats while 1990 out of 4371 in the Panchayat Samiti.
Fourteen out of 21 District Councils were taken by the BJP, while the Congress won only five.
On the other hand, BJP has won 93 out of the 222 blocks of Block Panchayat so far.
He said that earlier BJP came out victorious in the Bihar Assembly Polls and Hyderabad Municipal polls also proved that people in Telangana are with BJP, and in Arunachal too BJP won with a great margin in the regional polls.
He said that despite bad publicity by opposition during COVID regarding the problem of migration, agri laws and others, the public still stands and has shown support to the BJP.
He said that the government has spoken to the farmers with an open mind to address their problems regarding the same, the solution in a democracy is always taken out through talks and will come out through talks in this scenario, this is what government hopes, he added.
